He let us review each car, we test drove several, and he lets us decide without pressure, but provided great info on each of the cars to help us make our decision. The visit was timely and he was very accomodating. We ended up actually finding and purchasing a car on our vist. The whole process was prefect, Keith was the perfect sales person for us, in particular with accomodating me, my wife, and my daughter in reviewing the cars to find the right fit and choice for us. • From the minute I spoke to Internet Sales over the phone, my experience was easy - stress free. I made an appointment for next day, my sales man was waiting for me. He was kind, friendly, upbeat and listened to what I wanted. What impressed me the most was how knowledgeable he was about the vehicle and the time he took to show me the new features on the vehicle. This made all the difference. He offered me the choice of test driving again! even though I had already test drove vehicle at a different honda dealer day before - he offered again AND gave me choice of local or highway test drive! He was patient and worked with me. I will definitely recommend people to James for more sales. I was dissapointed with monthly payment as I really wanted to be lower than 300.00 month but in the end I feel the car is worth what I am paying. The only other thing that I was not happy with, what the total time I was at the dealer. Took 6hrs total from the time I walked in, to the time I drove away with my new car. Too long! And no refreshments at dealer. Children's area I recommend to have a TV with DVD movies they can watch. Maybe have vending machine for people to get snacks. And definitely try and limit the total transaction to 4hr MAX! 6hrs way too long! Especially when you have small children with you. -karentejeda

Honda Racing Civic Touring Car Gets the Shakedown Treatment

The Honda Racing Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) team has been out testing the new Honda Civic Next Generation Touring Car (NGTC) in preparation for the upcoming British Touring Car Championship race season. Preliminary testing was done last week at the MIRA test track and is happening this week at the Brands Hatch circuit.

Matt Neal, who has three BTCC championships under his belt, spent some time with the Honda Racing team familiarizing himself with the new car and making sure it’s ready for track testing. Neal will be joined by Gordon “Flash” Shedden at Brands Hatch to give the NGTC some shakedown testing to prepare the car for the upcoming BTCC season.

“This is the first opportunity we have had to get behind the wheel to really see what the car has got,” said Matt Neal, in a Honda Racing press release. “The team is really pleased with the results from the test at MIRA last week and I can’t wait to finally start putting the car through its paces. It will be interesting to see how the car performs, but I’m optimistic that we’ll walk away from today confident we have a championship winning car.”

“The feedback on the new Civic NGTC car so far is incredibly promising and I’ve been itching to get into the car since the end of the 2011 season,” said Shedden. “Like Matt mentioned, this is the first time we have had to really push the car and I’m looking forward to putting it into action.”

“The team have all been working incredibly hard since the start of the NGTC program back in August, so everybody’s very excited to see the new car on track for the first time,” said Peter Crolla, team manager, in the press release. “It’ll be interesting from the point of view of both drivers and engineers to see how the car behaves on a track where we were very competitive with the S2000 Civic and we can really start to understand and develop the new car.”

Crolla indicated that this week’s testing is “to establish a baseline” for the car’s set-up. The car than can be tuned for the different race circuits. “Initial feedback from the MIRA shakedown was positive so we’re hoping to continue that today and cover some valuable mileage with both Matt and Gordon behind the wheel”.

The Honda Racing team will next test the NGTC at the Donington Park circuit. No other testing dates were mentioned. The season opens April 1, 2012.

Mugen-powered Honda Jazz rally car looks Fit for the purpose

Honda took a Mugen-powered Jazz (better known as the the Fit here in the U.S.), sent it to Italy to be engineered for rallying by JAS of Milan, then flew it to Australia to be prepared for Oz's 2012 rally series. Honda's been competing in the series with Civic Type R racers for the last two years, but this year, it decided to press the Fit into service for G2 class spec.

Up front is a 245-horsepower Mugen powerplant with 142 pound-feet of torque. Honda says this "may well be the fastest Jazz in the world," and it will start challenging the six rounds of this year's championship in March with driver Eli Evans and co-driver Glen Weston.

• I spent this past weekend looking for a used car. Because I commute to the city via Metro North, I wasn't looking for an expensive used car. I visited six (6) different dealerships in the two days. Every dealership tried to sell me any and every car. I met with Bob Mancini and he was resposive to what I was looking for and didn't waste my time trying to sell me something I didn't want or need. Honda to Race New European Civic Hatch with 1.6-liter Turbo in the WTCC

Honda is getting ready to put on its racing suit for the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), in which it will participate with the new European Civic hatchback.

“We have made a decision to enter into the WTCC with the European Civic," said Honda CEO, Takanobu Ito, on the announcement. "We will develop a totally new engine for this project and we are all excited about starting this new challenge."

The Japanese automaker revealed that its Research and Development division will design a bespoke 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder racing engine with direct-injection in accordance with FIA’s Super 2000 regulations.

Honda's motorsports partners for this project are Mugen, which will manufacture and maintain the engine, and J.A.S. Motorsport, that will develop the racecar.

The company said that it aspires to join the WTCC as early as this season, with a string of “inaugural rounds” to trial the car and which will likely include Japan (held on 21 October 2012 at Honda’s Suzuka circuit), followed by China and Macau.

Honda then plans to enter a two-car team managed by J.A.S. Motorsport into every race in the 2013 championship season.

The Japanese company noted that its activity in the WTCC is being run independently to the Honda Racing British Touring Car Championship.
