High in Value, High in Fun

039_re_sport_34front
The new Accord Sport Sedan adds popular features that customers often want, making the Accord Sport an even better value. These include aggressive V-rated tires wrapped around 18-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, paddle shifters (on CVT models), a decklid spoiler and more.

The direct-injected 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder that powers the Sport Sedan is essentially identical to the engine in the LX, EX, EX-L Sedan and LX-S, EX, and EX-L Coupe. The key feature that allows the Sport engine to make an additional four horsepower compared to the 185-horsepower 4-cylinder engine is a special exhaust system with larger diameter tubing and dual outlets that nets a 52% increase in flow. Not only that – the Sport Sedan’s 189-horsepower inline 4-cylinder meets LEV 2 ULEV emission standards in most states, and PZEV emission standards in select states.

Sport Sedan standard features (adds to LX Sedan):

  •     189 horsepower @ 6400 rpm (SAE net)
  •     Paddle shifters (CVT-equipped models)
  •     18-inch alloy wheels
  •     235/45 R18 V-rated tires
  •     Fog lights
  •     Dual chrome exhaust finishers
  •     Illuminated power window switches
  •     Driver’s seat with 10-way power adjustment, including power lumbar support
  •     Lockable glove compartment

Happy Monday fans! Here is a maintenance tip to help save you some money in the long run!

Fix-chipped-windshield
Fix Small Windshield Chips

  • Got a rock chip, crack, or ding in your windshield? Bring your car to a windshield repair shop. For far less cost than replacing the windshield, they can fix chips and cracks, even quite long ones. The repairs not only keep the chips and cracks from spreading and restore structural integrity, they also improve clarity.

Many thanks to Chris, for this amazing review! Keep up the great work Keith!

  • Keith Johnson was very helpful in navigating my first purchase of a car. His calm demeanor and gracious personality made for a pleasant experience. Usually trust is not associated with a car salesman but by the end of the day I can honestly say that I put my full faith in Keith Johnson. Keith is a man that you can take at his word and I would highly recommend anyone in the process of looking for a car to place a call with Mr. Johnson. -Chris B.

2013 Honda CR-Z Revealed Ahead of 2012 Paris Auto Show

2013_honda_cr-z_f34_ns_91412_717
The 2013 Honda CR-Z, which is set to get more power, was revealed ahead of its debut at the 2012 Paris Auto Show.

The first full image of the CR-Z was released on Friday. Bits and pieces of the refreshed hybrid were revealed earlier, including such details as restyled alloy wheels, a new instrument panel button marked "S+" and LED headlights.

No powertrain specifications were disclosed, but Honda said "the power of both the petrol engine and electric motor has been increased without comprising fuel economy or increasing exhaust emissions."

Honda said that performance and the hybrid's European on-sale date will be announced at the Paris show.

The 2012 Honda CR-Z hybrid is equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 122 horsepower. The engine is linked to a standard six-speed manual transmission. The EPA says the 2012 CR-Z with the manual transmission returns 31 mpg in city driving and 37 mpg on the highway.

The revised 2013 Honda CR-Z will go on sale here in the fall, according to Paul Seredynski, an American Honda Motor Co. spokesman. He said that pricing is not yet available.

The 2012 CR-Z starts at $20,485, including a $790 destination charge. The 2012 CR-Z comes in two trim levels, the CR-Z and CR-Z EX.

Happy Monday fans! Here is a Monday Maintenance tip!

Fh08dja_lubwin_02
Preserve Door and Window Seals

  • Wipe a rubber protectant (such as Armor-All) or silicone on doors and windows weather-stripping to keep it in good condition. Don’t use an oil-based product, such as WD-40, because the oil will damage the rubber. Regular cleaning and treatment of your car’s weather-stripping will also lessen the likelihood of your door sticking to its rubber seal in cold weather, a common cause of damage to the rubber.

Many thanks to John for this outstanding reflection of your recent visit with us! Keep up the great work Keith!

Targeted Tops in Safety

2013_honda_accord_sedan_ex-l-v6_fq_oem_1_500
The 2013 Accord is targeted to earn top scores in both the federal government’s NCAP and the IIHS vehicle evaluations.

The 2013 Accord has been engineered with safety in mind right from the start. Engineers specifically designed Accord’s structure and components to perform well in the real world, as well as to pass new, tougher crash safety tests. Accord is targeted to achieve the highest possible ratings in the federal government’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). In addition, Accord is expected to earn top ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). That can mean added peace of mind for Accord owners.

Happy Monday fans! Here is a Monday maintenance tip to keep the interior of your car from looking weathered!

Car-shades
Park in the Shade

  • Of course, a garage is always the ideal place to park your car. But if one isn’t available, minimize interior damage from UV sunlight and heat by always trying to park your car in the shade. If no shade is available or if you find parking under a tree results in bird droppings, use a car shade to minimize the sun’s impact. As a bonus, you’ll have a cooler car to step into on hot sunny days. Car shades come in two basic types: those that you unfold and place on the front windshield and rear window, or pleated types that attach to the windshield posts (with adhesive), window frames (with Velcro), or the windows themselves (with suction cups).

A huge thank you to the authors of these amazing reviews! Keep up the great work team!

White Plains Honda - Two (5) Star Reviews on DealerRater

  • Having looking at several different SUV's we decided on the Honda CRV. We checked prices and availability of inventory at several different Honda dealers and settled in on White Plains Honda. We were greeted by Keith Alexander who really took care of us. He confirmed the price we were willing to pay, processed the paperwork, and set our minds at ease when he assured us that he would have our CRV EX-L impeccably cleaned and gased up when we returned the following day to pick it up. Sure to his word our new CRV was in pristine condition when we arrived to drive it home. We were additionally impressed with the way other White Plains Honda staff assisted in the process. James Blloshmi helped expedite the paperwork while Brandi Robinson skillfully took us through the vehicle's impressive features. All-in-all a very good experience. In the future we wouldn't hesitate about returning to White Plains Honda when looking for another vehicle. -bchiodo

White Plains Honda - Two (5) Star Reviews on DealerRater

  • I am a longtime Honda buyer & was looking for a Honda Element online. I found one @ White Plains Honda but was a little skeptical because of how far away it was from my home & I hoped I wasn't wasting my time. When I arrived I met Keith Johnson & he showed me the car & took me for a test drive. I was sold on it instantly. It was exactly what I was looking for. Keith & the rest of the staff took me through the sales process quickly & painlessly & I got the deal I was looking for without a hassle. I told them I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wanted a good deal without the hassle of a pushy dealer just trying to make their quota. White Plains Honda is only concerned with making the customer happy & it showed throughout the entire staff. Thanx again for making it so easy. -DelRe
  • Keith was a great salesperson, got a good deal on the car, everyone at White Plains Honda was very friendly and knowledgeable, I had a good experience buying my car. -carag811

Best Tailgating Cars of the Season

Tailgating is a time-honored tradition that has always revolved around one central item—the perfect car. We've compiled a list of the best all-around cars for pre-game festivities in the stadium parking lot. Our list has cars of all sizes, and each one made the list because it boasts features that were made with the tailgater in mind. The top tailgating car of the season are:
  • 2
2012 Honda Odyssey: The ultimate tailgating machine. Packed full of fan-friendly features, the Odyssey can carry up to eight fans with enough room behind them to pack a small grill. Or, it can carry five fans, collapse the third row and have 93.1 cubic feet for even more storage. The higher trim levels even offer technology features like Honda's 16.2-inch split screen entertainment system.
  • 2
2012 Honda Fit: Not every tailgating car needs to be a giant. The Fit is among the most space efficient cars on the market and can handle a lot more than its exterior suggests.
  • 3
2012 Honda Ridgeline: The Ridgeline's ace in the hole is a standard 8.5 cubic-foot trunk under the pickup bed, which easily becomes a 225-quart cooler on wheels.
