Excitement Meets Efficiency with VCM.
The 2013 Accord’s new, more powerful V-6 can also stretch fuel further with an overall improvement in fuel efficiency compared to the outgoing model. Plus, it offers greater smoothness and more consistent power delivery than the turbocharged 4-cylinder engines in some competitive cars.
How does VCM work? During startup, aggressive acceleration or when climbing hills – any time high power output is required – the engine operates on all six cylinders. During moderate-speed cruising and at low or moderate engine loads, the system operates on a reduced number of cylinders.
The VCM system can change the working displacement of the engine to match the driving requirements from moment to moment. It’s like having a small engine when you only need a little power and a big engine when you really need to move. Since the system automatically closes both the intake and exhaust valves of the cylinders that are not used, pumping losses associated with intake and exhaust are eliminated and fuel efficiency gets a further boost.
The VCM system combines maximum performance and maximum fuel efficiency – two characteristics that don’t happily coexist in conventional engines. Glad to say they get along just fine in the new Accord V-6 automatic.

Thank you Angela, for sharing your kind words with us! Great job team!

- The personal attention and helpful, friendly service given by Keith Johnson made me immediately comfortable . It was an honest approach to getting me what I WANTED without the pressure of pushing for a more expensive model of the car that I was looking to purchase. -Angela G.

A huge thank you to the author of this glowing review! Keep up the great work team!

- We had a great experience buying our new Honda FIT from White Plains Honda and dealing with all the people we worked with there -- who were extremely professional, knowledgeable, courteous and obviously take the idea of customer care and service very seriously. I will gladly recommend this dealership to everyone I know or meet who mentions that they are shopping for a new car, and will specifically refer them to Donna Ann Lozinsky and James Blloshmi. We initially worked with James, and when he had to go out of town Donna took over -- and took very good care of us, even picking us up at our home and driving us to the dealership on the day we took possession of our new Honda. We give them both very high marks. And the same goes for Kurt Schon, who's the liveliest and most personable Finance/Business Manager we've ever encountered at an auto dealership. -Rosen

The all-new Accord takes Honda’s exterior styling in a fresh, athletic direction! Read the new fact about the all-new 2013 Honda Accord below!
Every new Accord features a big, full-color intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID), so it’s easy to access a wide range of useful information.
The great-looking i-MID is the focal point of Accord’s instrument panel and gives the interior an upscale, advanced feel. It’s very cool, but you’ll just have to be patient until we can show you what it looks like (come back to the launch website after September 5th). Trust us. It’s a colorful example of the car’s much greater standard feature content in every model grade.Courtesy of 2013HondaAccordLaunch.com

Honda Offers a Peek at '13 Accord
Honda released the first images of the production version of the Accord sedan and coupe last week but provided few new details about the models.
The two photos released show door sculpting and a rear-window kink at the C-pillar that resemble the styling of BMW's latest 3-Series. But the front and rear fascias clearly signal a Honda.
The car's wheelbase will remain the same, but its overall length will shrink. Still, Honda says the 2013 Accord will offer more passenger and cargo room than the outgoing car.
Meanwhile, Honda's interest-rate and lease incentives have soared as high as $4,500 per unit during the sell-down of the outgoing Accord, according to TrueCar.
Along with sportier styling, the 2013 Accord introduces new technology for Honda. The new Earth Dreams engines offer improved output and fuel economy and lower emissions. They have direct injection and double overhead cams.
The base engine will be a 2.4-liter inline-four with more than 181 horsepower and 177 foot-pounds of torque. That means a slight horsepower increase over the outgoing base model, but considerably more torque, with at least 10 percent better fuel economy, Honda engineers have said.
All four-cylinder versions of the Accord with an automatic transmission will have a CVT. The decision could prove to be a gamble because CVTs have not been widely accepted by American buyers and have had reliability problems in some vehicles.
But maybe the biggest question looming – in an era of cost-cutting necessitated by the strong Japanese yen – is what the Accord looks like inside. A repeat of the current Civic's overly plastic interior will not sit well with U.S. customers.
Honda did not release images of the 2013 Accord's interior, but Honda sources say the cabin is an improvement from the current generation."

Hey fans! When the roads get wet driving conditions can get dangerous, here is a tip to help you in case you ever get stuck in a skid!
- Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
Losing control of your car on wet pavement is a frightening experience. You can prevent skids by driving slowly and carefully, especially on curves. Brake before entering the curves. Steer and brake with a light touch. If you find yourself in a skid, remain calm, ease your foot off the gas, and carefully steer in the direction you want the front of the car to go. This procedure, known as "steering into the skid," will bring the back end of your car in line with the front. For cars without anti-lock brakes, avoid using your brakes. If your car has ABS, brake firmly as you "steer into the skid."
Another 5-Star review for White Plains Honda! Keep up the great work team!

All-New 2013 Honda Accord Will Debut with Premium and Sophisticated Exterior Styling

The 2013 Accord's styling is expressive, sophisticated and premium. Starting in the front, a bold new grille imparts a distinctive and dynamic tension that complements the powerful look of the hood's multiple styling lines. A strong side character line flows through the door handles and flares upward toward the rear of the vehicle to further convey a sense of motion. A deep contour in the rocker panel firmly grounds its visual presence to the road and smartly turns upward to convey a sporty attitude. In the back, the inward slope where the fenders taper into the trunk and C-pillars is designed to convey a powerful, athletic stance from the rear.
True to the spirit of Honda and every Accord before it, the ninth-generation embraces a customer focus from the inside out. Smart interior packaging allows for increased passenger and cargo space in both the sedan and the coupe, while the overall exterior lengths are noticeably shortened, contributing to a sportier driving character and easier parking. An expansive greenhouse and generous rear seating area provide excellent levels of visibility and comfort for the driver and all passengers.
"This car is the most sculpted and the most dynamic Accord yet," said Vicki Poponi, assistant vice president of product planning for American Honda. "Following Honda's long-held philosophy of 'man maximum, machine minimum,' the beautiful exterior evolved from a focus on interior space and the needs of the people inside it."
On the road, an overall aerodynamic shape combined with low-drag exterior surfaces including nearly flush windshield glass, flush-mounted windshield wipers and careful under-body tailoring promise enhanced fuel efficiency. Premium details like available LED daytime running lights, headlights and taillights hint at the sophisticated technology and luxury available inside.

How to Select the Best New Honda for You

Questions to Ask Yourself
If you were a salesperson, you would ask a potential customer a series of questions to help them find what they need. The car experts at Edmunds.com suggest you be your own salesperson and conduct an interview with yourself. Ask yourself the following questions:
· Will I ever be towing anything?
· Do I have restricted parking options?
· Do I prefer a manual or automatic transmission?
· Would I benefit from four-wheel or all-wheel drive?
· How much cargo capacity do I need?
· How much power do I need?
· How will I be using my new car?
Your answers will help you form an idea of the best Honda for you. For example, if you only have a compact garage and will primarily be going to and from work, an SUV would not be a good fit. You will be better off with one of Honda’s many compact cars. If you would like an actual salesperson to ask you more questions, head down to White Plains Honda, or your closest Honda dealer, to receive more assistance.
What Car Type is best for me?
The above questions have helped you narrow your options to come up with an idea of what you would like in a car. Honda offers a wide variety of cars. Car and Driver, a respected organization that rates automobiles, suggests you consider which type of car best suits your needs. Below are several popular types of cars:
· Hatchback–Hatchbacks have a fifth door, which is called the hatchback. These vehicles offer more expanded cargo space than a sedan, but usually have an undesirable fuel economy rating.
· Sedan–Honda offers several sedans. A sedan is essentially a four-door car, which is perfect for a small family. They usually offer impressive trunk space for groceries, and their four doors make loading and unloading the family a breeze.
· Coupe–The main difference between a coupe and a sedan is the number of doors. A coupe can be difficult for a family, and is ideal for someone who does not anticipate regularly having extra passengers. Coupes are generally stylish and eye-catching.
· SUV–This type of car has become increasingly popular over the past few years as it allows for plenty of passengers, has extended cargo space and can tow a boat or trailer. While all of this sounds great, the exchange is increased fuel economy. You’ll be paying more to get from point A to point B compared to any other type of car.
· Minivan–A minivan is the classic family car. In the past, they were unexciting and boring. These days, Honda’s line of minivans is extremely luxurious and can comfortably seat five to seven passengers. They also have better gas mileage than SUVs.
By comparing your answers to the above questions with the various types of cars available, you will be able to select the best new Honda for you. Take your time with this decision—it is an important one!

Hey fans! Since it is Monday, here is a maintenance tip to help you get safely home after nightfall.

Instead of looking at oncoming headlights, look toward the right side of the road and watch the white line marking the outside edge of the traffic lane. When headlights from vehicles following you reflect in your rearview mirror, use the "day-night" feature on the mirror or adjust your mirror to cut out as much of the light as possible.

Many thanks to the authors of these four fabulous reviews! Keep up the great work team!

- The moment I walked in the door to this dealership I felt comfortable. Brandi Robinson was so friendly and such a pleasure to speak with. She knows her stuff and had absolutely no problem explaining the features on my new Accord to me!! Nelson Munoz was also very helpful in terms of car talk and understanding what I was now the proud owner of.
All in all this dealship is filled with friendly people who have no problem answering your questions and finding you something that best suits your needs. I wouldn't buy a Honda from any place else! Scouts honor!!! -Ashvedo
- I LOVE this dealership! I've bought 2 cars from Ivy Tellez. Both times she was very professional and helpful. My daughter is soon to need a car, and without thinking twice, I will get the car from White Plains Honda. -William505
- I came into the dealership shopping around for the Crv navigation 2012. They were the second dealership I visited. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Specifically, Brandi Robinson gave me a full overview of my vehicle and answered all of my questions. Typically other dealerships close the deal and you drive off the lot without truly knowing all the features of the car. She sat with me and went over everything. This is just that special touch that makes this dealership stand out amongst the rest. She's professional - yet sweet and very personable. The general manager Nelson Munoz was also very hands on which is something you don't see very often at a dealership. I'd recommend Honda of White Plains to anyone. -Soccer Mom3
- It was a pleasure working with White Plains Honda. They made my experience effortless and met all my expectations. James addressed my concerns and accommodated my price point and specifications. I would recommend this dealership for anyone looking to lease or purchase a new Honda. -Megan C.
